We are now using Quickr 8.5 and I can’t find this option. The only way to generate a .qkr file is to go to “Preferences…”  in your Places Monitor and select the option to replace links when sending mail in Lotus Notes ánd select “use .qkr file” when replacing attachments. This is not what I need.

I find it very handy to have a .qkr-file on my desktop. For example, for projects where we have an excel file with todo’s which needs to be up-datable quickly and easily.

So I created an agent in my mail file that will generate this .qkr file for me. This is how it works:

1. I go to to the excel file in my Quickr sidebar, right click and select ‘copy as link’:

2. In my mailfile, I run the agent…:

…and paste the link in the dialogbox

3. I specify where I want the .qkr file:

4. Et voila:

Remarks:

1. This is quick and dirty code, don’t expect it to work on any file. It does the trick for my most important files, the rest is up to you.
2. It does not work on folders. Any tips on this will be very much appreciated!

I’m not going to explain how to incorporate dojo in your form, that’s fairly simple and explained on the Dojo website.

However, if you start using the dijit.form.DateTextBox, you should note that the date format used by dojo is “yyyy-mm-dd”. I added a date field on my form, and added “”dojoType=’dijit.form.DateTextBox’” in the HTML Attributes and all seemed to work well… at first.

But when I saved and re-opened the document the values were no longer visible. They were saved in the fields, but the dijit DateTextBox requires the dates to be in the format “yyyy-mm-dd” to display them. Because I like the fact the I can put a Date in a Date Field, I don’t want to put it in a Text Field and then create a second Date Field to calculate a date…

This is a workaround:

1. Create a computed for display field (next to) the date field:

2. In the Computed For Display Field next to the Date Field, put the following @Formula:

By creating a new folder in Windows 7 in a specific way, users get a place where they can customize everything, from the appearance of the mouse pointer to creating a new partition.

This trick is also reported to work under Windows Vista, though there are posts that the 64-bit version of Vista does crash. For the 32-bit version, this God-mode should work.

To activate this mode, you create a new folder and name it the following:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Once that happened, the icon of the folder changes and the folder will contain more than 280 configuration options.

This site is running on domino. This is how I accomplished this:

1. Create a java agent to read the rss feed.
2. On the web page, use an XmlHttpRequest to call the agent and get the XML.
3. Also in javascript: parse the XML to HTML and put in a div on the website.

The code for step 2 and 3, you can see on our website: just download the javascript code (we use dojo as a framework).

Step 1 is also fairly simple. Here is the most important part of the code:

The tricky part for me was the get past our proxy server. I was testing this code on my local domino server meaning that the proxy server had to be used to access the internet (and the feed). I tried modifying the server document and setting the agent security to allow unrestricted operations. To no avail.

Then I found out that the java.policy file (in the ‘jvm/lib/security’ folder) has to be modified to allow java to modify system settings. And that’s what’s needed to set up the proxy server in java:

This is what you need to add in the java.policy file to get this to work (in the ‘grant’ section – “default permissions granted to all domains”):

I did not find a table containing the integer values of the excel contant names you get when you record a macro. So I called in the help of  Theo.

The simplest way is to use the ‘immediate window’ in VB. Press CTRL-G to make it appear in your vb-window.

You can then simply type: “print xlUnderlineStyleSingle” which will show you “2″.

For your reference, I’ll attach the entire table.

When a user logs in, their Lotus Notes information is accessed using LDAP.

They needed Lotus Notes webservices that can:

• Check the availability of a user based on a given timeframe
• Create/modify an appointment
• Return a list of all calendar entries within a given timeframe

I’ll explain how we accomplished this…

 To store the webservices, we created a new database called CalendarServices.nsf. The webservice has a “run as” option set to “Webservice User/Domain”. This user has access to busytime.nsf and all mailfiles.

To be able to authenticate against the webservice we created a rule on the domino server for the url pattern “*CalendarServices.nsf *”.

After coding the webservices (in Java – please contact us for the code), we created the consumer client with axis1.4. SoapUI has been a big help since this tool will generate the consumer code for you.

A client is using the FCK Editor as a RTEditor for a CMS system we created, but FCK lacks the ability to insert ‘internal’ website links.

Idea is that we present them with a list of the available pages with prebuilt links, so they can simply insert it as a normal link.

What you need to do to use it:

1. Download the FCK Internal Link Plugin

2. Drop the plugin in the ‘plugins’ folder of your FCK folder

3. Add a button in your FCK config file:

4. Put following function on the page where you embed the editor
