PHP frameworks are the latest hot topic in the PHP community, and new frameworks are being released daily. With over 40 frameworks available it’s difficult to decide which framework works best for you, especially as each framework offers different functionality.

In this article from PHPit, they will look at ten popular frameworks, and compare them to each other. First they will give you a general chart which gives you a quick overview of all the frameworks, and after that they’ll go through each framework and discuss it in short.

My first post… so I’ll try to make it a good one. Being a Notes developer with some Java experience, PHP is the new challenge! Since PHP5, the language is OO, so that’s a relief. It took me about 2 days to get everything up and running, but you should be able to do it faster with this tutorial.
Here a the source files you will need.

It’s based on my experience and some other tutorials I found on the web which handles the following:

1. Install & configure WAMP
2. Configure PHP
3. Install & configure PostGreSQL
4. Set up the Zend Framework
5. Start programming

Before getting started I suggest you take the PHP tutorial. I assume you have some basic knowledge of OO-programming and web development.

I hope it’s useful! It probably contains some errors so please let me know if it needs to be updated.
